Anusara Yoga
Instructor: Heidi Bock
Tuesdays • 8:45-10 am
Drop-in class - $12/class, class cards available here
Anusara is
.........“flowing with grace” “going with the flow” and “following your heart”. It’s about stepping in to the current of life and embracing it fully with an open heart.
Rooted in the Tantric philosophy of intrinsic goodness, this path is life affirming, actively seeking the good in all things and inspired by the rhythms of nature.
Anusara yoga teachers are committed to looking for the good in all things, especially themselves and their students.
What is a typical class like?
An anusara yoga class begins with an inspirational theme that is peppered in to the postural sequence so that students can simultaneously stay present in body and spirit . The postural sequence gives equal time and attention to all parts of the body in a balanced way.
As students learn the Anusara Universal Principles of Alignment and apply them to the postures, the body moves into optimal alignment for healing, for energy and circulation to flow, and for the spirit to thrive.

Is a state of Happiness something that we need to search for outside of ourselves – through another person, through a career or a certain kind of lifestyle, or is it an innate and natural part of who we are that cannot be lost, but sometimes…… we forget?
Happiness is a powerful healing state of being. The more that we can fundamentally appreciate and explore this sometimes hidden part of us, the deeper, and more profound and positive our life experience will be.
Happiness heals on all levels, physically, emotionally and mentally. It brings us back into balance by touching in to our own true nature.
There is now ongoing scientific research into the importance of Happiness. It is widely acknowledged and documented that feeling good boosts our immune system and creates powerful chemicals and hormones within our organs and glands, which promote health and wellbeing.
……………………………………………………………………………………
Throughout this six week course we will learn practical exercises and techniques which can assist us to remember the natural feelings of Happiness which we all carry within.
Using examples and experiences from those who have found this profound state almost by accident, and who live it daily as part of who they are, we will delve into a fascinating and rewarding adventure of the heart, mind, and body.

Instructor: Ali Savitt
Drop-in class - $12/class, class cards available here
Kripalu yoga is a yoga of self, a practice of turning inward (pratyahara) to turn back out with greater understanding, peace and strength. In Kripalu yoga, breath unites the mind and body so that there is wholeness and the ability for the body to flow. Kripalu is sometimes thought of as a state of stillness through motion, a window open to direct experience. Regular practice leads to greater self-awareness, universal understanding, compassion and love.
“Kripalu Yoga conveys the authentic spirit of yoga and does so in a commonsense practice accessible to everyone. You don't need the body of an athlete, the mind of a mystic, or the lifestyle of a monk to benefit from Kripalu Yoga. Kripalu allows you to choose the level of physical intensity right for your body. It recognizes that every body is different. It encourages you to create a lifestyle supportive of your health by listening to your own body.” -Richard Fauld
