Laura Mann, Chair
Pam Burton-Macauley
Pamela Burton-Macauley is raising three small children in Shelburne, VT, after a lengthy career in journalism. Her career background includes stints as a Television Producer, Director, and Reporter for CNN and other international media outlets. Having spent 10 years living and working in Japan, where Eastern and Western medicine was equally respected, Pamela hopes to promote the same kind of integrative approach to wellness here in the U.S. A devoted practicioner of yoga, she is also a passionate supporter of women's and children's health concerns. She is married to Bob Macauley, a Pediatrician and Ethicist who is certified in both Hypnotherapy and Acupuncture.
Justin Henry
Justin is a consultant based out of Portland Maine, specializing in custom web application development. He has nearly ten years of experience providing programming, design, and advising services to a wide variety of clients. His hobbies and passions include photography, craftsmanship, cooking, and hiking.
Bob Macauley
Bob is a pediatrician who directs the Department of Clinical Ethics and the Pediatric Palliative Care Team at Fletcher Allen Health Care. He is also an Episcopal priest, having served as the priest-in-charge of Saint Paul's Episcopal Church in Vergennes from 2002-2006. He and his wife, Pam, moved to Vermont in 2002 from New York City, and they have three small children who make their lives rich and eventful.
Pamela Mann
Pamela Mann, MSSA, is the Assistant Director of Programs at The Kenneth B. Schwartz Center, where she has assisted with program expansion and directed the Patients Voice for Compassionate Care; Schwartz Center Dialogues. Prior to her current position she was a consultant for Partners HealthCare providing program research, program development and event planning services. She has 20 years of experience in human services and the health care field; in addition she was the founding Executive Director of Horizons for Homeless Children in Boston, MA. After graduating from Brown University, she earned her Master’s degree from Case Western Reserve University’s School of Applied Social Sciences. Pamela is one of Laura's sisters and has been eager to support Laura's desire to establish Dhatri Foundation.
Kim Nolan
Kim Nolan’s professional experiences are based on principles of leadership, service and spirituality. Her career includes directing a community based mental health program, Board President of a coop elementary school, commercial mortgage banking and consulting through the Dignity Foundation, which she founded in 2008. Kim brings a unique voice to systems thinking, organizational development and relationships within the community. She will be ordained as a Buddhist Chaplain in March 2010 and will begin a PhD program in Leadership & Change in July 2010.
Sue Ray
Sue Ray is the Vice President of the Dhatri Advisory Board. She lives in Underhill with her husband and her 11-year-old son. Although her degree is in Health Sciences, Sue’s careers have spanned many other disciplines as well. Previously in her life, Sue worked for the State of Vermont Home Visiting Mothers and Children program, screening for early childhood development milestones and connecting mothers with educational resources and support services to lead independent lives. Sue spent a large part of her life living abroad and traveling extensively in Asia and she believes it is this time spent in Asia that sparked and developed her strong interest in alterative and complementary medicine. Additionally, Sue has photographed landscape projects for marketing purposes and done a great deal of interior design, especially of kitchens, using tile and stone. Sue’s close relationship with Laura Mann began in a yoga class about 11 year ago and has only continued to grow since then.
Diana Vachon
Diana comes to the Dhatri Foundation with over 13 years experience in Long Term Care and Home Health Care fields. She earned a BS in Business Administration at St. Michael's College (SMC). Diana has completed her studies in Acupuncture and is Nationally Board Certified by the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM). In 2008, Diana earned her acupuncture license from the State of Vermont and is practicing at the Acupuncture and Qigong Health Center in Essex Junction. Diana lives with her family in Shelburne, VT. They enjoy hiking, snowshoeing, kayaking, and martial arts.
Elzy Wick
Elzy Wick is a mother of three boys. She has a background in public relations and fundraising and is on the planning committee of The Clothes Exchange and other local charity events. Elzy also teaches water aerobics classes at a local gym and is an avid runner, nutrition, and fitness enthusiast.
Robbin LaRue
Robbin LaRue, a Certified Human Behavior Consultant, lives on a farm in Addison County, Vermont. She has over 25 years of experience working with parents and educators, assisting them in their role of meeting the needs of children, in order to support optimal development and to reduce risk factors. Her true passion and career focus is the primary prevention of child abuse and neglect. Working from a strength-based model of wellness, Robbin was drawn to Dhatri's vision of integrative health.
Robbin received her bachelor's of education at UVM and did her graduate work at Auckland University in New Zealand where she received a Masters degree in Education. She loves parenting her daughters, Emma and Sage, and savors time at home on weekends and school vacations as well as chances to travel together. Having learned to carve out play time, Robbin likes to sail, ski, snowshoe, bike and to spend time in the woods or on the beach.
Julia Brock
Julia lives in Shelburne with her husband Emmanuel Soultanakis, and children Jack and Tia. Originally from Maine, she founded Maitri in 2003, realizing a life long dream of creating a women’s practice which listens to, cares about, and provides state of the art care for women. Areas of interest include integrative medicine, mind/body approach to healing, gynecologic ultrasound, and minimally invasive surgery. Outside the hospital, she enjoys sailing, skiing, painting, and gardening, and practicing yoga.
